By accessing or using Island Gorilla ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Island Gorilla is a language learning platform that allows users to import text content and YouTube videos, look up word definitions, track vocabulary progress, and export vocabulary for spaced repetition study.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.

4. Free and Premium Plans

  • Free plan: limited to 3 content pieces and 50 word lookups per month.
  • Core plan: a one-time purchase of $99 for lifetime access to unlimited content, lookups, TTS, web import, and vocabulary export.
  • Pro plan: a one-time purchase of $149 for lifetime access to all Core features plus YouTube video import with AI-powered transcription.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you import into the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you import. We do not claim ownership of your imported content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access restrictions.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
  • Share your account credentials with others.

7. Intellectual Property

The Island Gorilla platform, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Loïs Talagrand. All rights reserved.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Changes to Features

The features and functionality of Island Gorilla may change over time. We continuously improve and update the platform, which may include adding new features, modifying existing ones, or discontinuing certain features. While we strive to maintain and improve the core experience, purchasing a plan does not guarantee that every specific feature available at the time of purchase will remain unchanged indefinitely. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes to our users.
