  • Payment information: processed securely through our payment provider. We do not store your credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Island Gorilla language learning platform.
  • Track your vocabulary progress and reading statistics.
  • Generate AI-powered word definitions and translations.
  • Send you important account-related notifications (e.g., export downloads).

3. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to provide certain features:

  • AI services: to generate word definitions, translations, example sentences, and text-to-speech audio. Text snippets you look up may be sent to third-party AI providers for processing.
  • Speech-to-text services: for YouTube video transcription. Audio from YouTube videos you import is sent to a third-party transcription service.
  • YouTube: for embedding video players when you import YouTube content.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. All communications are encrypted using HTTPS. Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

  • Request deletion of your account.
